Add San Francisco to that and you would have the All Star lineup for Techno and House music in the US.
People act shocked when I tell them what a great Techno (which is different from house, I know) scene Dallas has. Its easily one of the best in the US.
Location: Detroit's eastside, downtown Detroit in near future!

When I think having a great scene.Im thinking about places where you can actually go listen and dance to House music.Particularly clubs that are not just gay or black.Atlanta had MJQ Concourse and it was AWESOME.Even my friends from Montreal and Toronto were impressed. Now its changed their format.Totally sucks now.
Atlanta has various venues but its usually not at the same spot or the same night,You can find it but you have to look a little harder. Its not overwhelming, but adequate at best. Not many cities are even adequate so I guess that's good for Atlanta.
All the big house stars come to Atlanta. Not to mention the Techno ones also.
na but really, what cities have the best house music scene
i'm guessing Chicago, NYC, and Miami.
House Music was born in Chicago so naturally its always going to be a part of the music, culture, & people there.
Other cities commonly known for this style of music are
1. NYC
2. San Francisco
3. Los Angeles
4. Miami
5. Dallas
I don't really count Vegas since there has been no real talent come out of that city & those clubs tend to attract the "superstar" type of DJ's who are better at showing off than actually mixing good music.

I agree 100% with this assertion. Also as stated before Baltimore has a good dance/edm scene. Also I would add Philadelphia, Austin, Denver and Atlanta to the list of cities with a decent EDM scene.
While I agree the electronic music world isn't as big over here as it is in Europe, that is due for a couple of major reasons. One being the crack house laws that were put into effect in the early part of this decade that consider late night "rave" parties illegal. Also, Hip Hop and top 40 used to have an absolute hold on the music scene. They still do but luckily the tides are changing.
I've seen in for myself here in Dallas where dance music is rising in prevalence again. Just went to the Electronic Daisy Carnival here in June and it was bangin with the likes of Rusko, Moby, Kaskade, Savoy and a lot of local talent.
"House music" is such a broad term tho. It's almost like saying "rock n roll". All of the forementioned cities have a unique sound. Chicago is deep and soulful. New York was always all about tribal. NJ did the vocal house. Boston has always been progressive house and tech. SF is funky house although they killed the big beat sound back in the 90's (Dj Dan and the Hardkiss bros come to mind).
Ok Im trying to be cool. But I take my music seriously. So please those who insist cities like Dallas,L.A.,San Francisco, and Miami ,please inform us if this is really HOUSE or Techno-House?I just do not see it in most of these cases.Especially Dallas and even Miami.Where can you go and actually listen or dance to House music in these cities?I really want to know!
From what I've gathered, the three cities with the deepest house music history are Chicago, Detroit and Washington DC. I could be wrong, though.
