But 70% of Georgians who were born in GA still live there. Compared to 66% for Minnesota.

Interesting stuff.
Yes i've seen this before but not focused on MN still now.
These numbers are healthy for both states. However more people are moving to Georgia by a much wider margin than leaving. What is interesting is what groups are moving to MN.I know that a lot of Chicago African Americans find MSP more appealing.(Not as far from family )..

Not many Asians moving into or staying in MN either

Georgia has warm weather. Warm weather is trendy right now. In 30 years, when the crop of kids that grew up in the Sunbelt reach adulthood, cold weather will be trendy, and Minnesota will be the new hip place to live.

Georgia has been growing 40 over 40 years.Harldy a "fad" or a "trend".Just like Florida,California and even Arizona.15-20 years ago it was rare to find a native Atlantan, now its not unusual at all.Even in the suburbs.Especially with HOPE .Kids are staying put.

And what ist with you guys and "warm weather".It GETs cold in Georgia!Especially in North GA like Atlanta being that its closer to the mountains

Quite possibly one of the more ignorant and uninformed posts I've read in awhile. Congratulations.

Also, I don't understand how people are dumb enough to think Atlanta has similar weather to Florida in the wintertime. We get ice storms here FFS. Our winter is only slightly milder than what the Southern Mid-Atlantic (The Carolinas, VA, MD) experiences. We may have a few more warm weather breaks in the winter, but it can get cold here in the winter.

Well freakin DUHHH!Whose trying to get around it?If you make a statement like the one he made then obviously he was implying that Georgia is mostly warm year round.52 Degrees is NOT WARM.NewsFlash!!Minnesota is NOT normal weather!Do you REALLY think 22 Degrees is NORMAL weather EVER?

52 degrees is warm weather you dont even need a coat. Georgia is mostly warm year round you ever wonder why so many people that live in the northern part of the states have winter homes in the south. Its not because we have the same weather its because its warmer. Even right now its 82 in Atlanta and 66 in Minneapolis. But your the one saying it gets cold your right you have a couple weeks of a cold snap and thats that. That doesnt constitute as winter. Want to know another shocker NOT once is Atlantas average high below 50 degrees
