ATL even had a higher rate moving to LA than from LA. Can you imagine?? LA???

sorry but ATL will be out paced by Houston, DFW, DC and Miami this decade

crazy ATL posters were predicting ATL to pass Houston in population about 4 years ago. What happened with that??? The people realized that ATL is not Disneyland and moved here instead.

even Dallas would not have survived without Houston's Port or San Antonio's cotton, or the cattle from Fort Worth and many other towns. Dallas is like ATL. It owes its existent to mooching off of other towns resources

Recognized, Dallas is number one. Importance, Houston. Dallas wouldn't survive without the port like you said, but stereotypes are more famous.

doesn't change the fact that Houston is the most popular for blacks.

Austin is the most popular for young whites, but there are just as many who would careless about Austin. Does that mean that Austin is no longer the most popular?? NOT AT ALL.

recognized and stereotyped are different things.

Dallas is not recognized as the best city in Texas. Not in your life.
Don't even know how you would come up with such nonsense. What does famous have to do with the best in the state?? did you read what he said?? Dallas doesn't beat Houston in anything important.

We have outgained your metro the last two decades in blacks. If Houston was such a draw for blacks wouldn't Houston be #1 in the state for black growth.

It doesn't have to be number one to be a major draw. Houston was not far from yall at all. and besides, for a metro that size it was time you all got blacks.

also the rate of blacks moving to DFW from ATL and Chicago have dropped rapidly, while the rate coming to Houston from ATL, Chicago and LA have boomed. Lets see who will have more this decade.

stop living in the past hun. What is happening now?

not at all. All smiles here. I live here after all. I probably would be mad if I had moved to DFW

You said recognized, which ties in with stereotypes. Recognized doesn't mean importance. I said Dallas is more recognized in Texas, and it is, Houston is more important economically but when someone from Java thinks of Texas they will most likely think Dallas and the Cowgirls.
Best is subjective, there is never a "Best" anything in life.

Yet, which metro, while actually being the smaller of the two, was the first to have its black population pass the 1 million mark? You get one guess.

You guys really need to stop all of this bickering.
