According to Bloomberg, the following cities are where hipsters dwell. The ranking was based on number of 25-34 yr old residents; green commuters; and employment in creative fields.

Where Hipsters Live: U.S. Metro Areas - Bloomberg Best (and Worst)

Top 25 in order: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Portland, Madison, Denver, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Miami, Baltimore, New Orleans, Salt Lake City, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Orlando, San Diego, Phoenix, Hartford.

Your thoughts on this list? How accurate do you think it is? Do you agree with the methodology used? Is the term "hipster" played out?

Hipsters can only be 25-34 year old?
Not sure about NYC and LA having a higher % hipsters than San Francisco.
Washington D.C., Chicago and Boston above Seattle
Philadelphia above Minneapolis, Portland and Denver

Are they just rattling off names of well-known US cities?

What's #26? Detroit?

The only city in Texas that belongs on that list is Austin. How the hell did Dallas get on that list???? The city is the anti-hipster.

Philly makes sense with NoLibs/Fishtown, no objection there. LOL @ Dallas? Washington? Vegas? Hartford? Okaaay. Yeah, but where's Boulder, Chattanooga, Albuquerque, Richmond? Not large enough to be counted or something? I can maybe see Boulder being fused into Denver.

This is a joke, right? Dallas? Miami? Orlando? Salt Lake City? Phoenix?

And no Nashville? No Asheville? No Tucson?

Yeah right. Bloomberg really has their finger on the pulse of American youth culture.
