Chicago 2015 Year To Date Totals

Year To Date
Shot & Killed: 370
Shot & Wounded: 2095
Total Shot: 2465
Total Homicides: 418

Riddle me that? We need a serious debate about gun control alright. Namely, how do we get one in every law abiding person's hands? Probably the only way you are going to reduce this climbing number and October is not over yet....let's take another peak after Q4, shall we?
"Oh but the northside, blah blah blah". That's all you hear from Chicago people in denial of their cities embarrassing crime, massive black under class, corruption, and decay."

How did NYC and LA get their act together? Well, the first step was admitting "we have a problem".

Ugly. St Louis is going to put up numbers similar to drug route cities in developing countries. I don't care if it's only a chunk of the city where this happens, when your homicide rate puts Northeast Brazil to shame, you don't need excuses, you need SOLUTIONS. Im embarrassed to live in the same ****ing country

Not sure how telling the total Detroit crime is since the population is dropping quickly. It doesn't matter if you have 50 less murders; you'll still have the same murder rate if the population drops by 200,000 every decade.

Do you have per capita rates?

2015: 35.14 (based on 2014 pop estimate)
2014: 36.75
2013: 40.22
2012: 46.80
2011: 40.38

Since 2001, Detroit has ended the year around 40-45 per 100k, 2012 ended at 54, 2008 ended just under 34. Statistically, the homicide rate has fallen only just slightly faster than the population loss, but it only takes a bad year to flatten it out.
