Ferguson and Baltimore black lives matter protests and the anti police atmosphere effect?

this was from the first few months "In New York City, the murder rate has gone up by 20% in 2015 compared with the first few months of 2014.
In other cities, there are similar increases reported. In Baltimore, murders are up 37% and in Los Angeles, violent crime is up by 27% (although murders are down 2%). In Houston, murders are up nearly 50% so far this year."

these numbers are recently

One would think if this were the case, then wouldn't cities with higher percentages of blacks have higher increases? This so called effect doesn't seem to be affecting every city equally or at all in some cases.

Good gravy! Sometimes I can't believe the misinformation that anonymous people propagate here on the forum.

Also, Georgia counties are barely bigger than the handful of cities they tend to contain...I mean, they are tiny compared to what many people consider a county to be.

The issue though is that Ferguson is not apart of the city of St. Louis, nor is St. Louis apart of St. Louis County. The County's and Ferguson's own PD mishandled Ferguson, whereas St. Louis' police force is completely separate.

St. Louis' murder rate was also spiking in 2014 before Mike Brown was ever shot. That's why the same NY Times article cited sources in St. Louis stating their opinions that something else was going on in St. Louis before Ferguson ever happened.

No kidding. So far, Baltimore has more murders in absolute numbers than NYC! Thats crazy. I think we should relocate some of our people from the projects to Baltimore... it'd make it statistically safer place to live.

The number of murders is strongly increasing in all American cities compared to last year. What has caused this sudden outburst of violence? It seems the murder capital holds up its reputation well.

Do you really believe that all of the murders were caused by the Black Lives Matters group?

So, what city experienced a drop in murder rates? I don't see any in the list. And would you happen to know what caused this nationwide outburst of violence?

Of course not on that list. That list is highlighting cities that have had increases, duh. There's dozens of other US cities with drops in homicide rates or hardly any change at all.
