I think it is fair to say that California, Florida, & Texas are the three states that have the best collection of US cities
California has LA, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose
Texas has San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, El Paso
Florida has Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, Tallahassee, Jacksonville

I would disagree on the basis that these states do not have the best US cities in my opinion. However you could rephrase that and say these states have the best collections of multiple big cities in the US and then you'd be on to something.

Disagree entirely.

New York State has New York City = better than anything on that List
Massachuessets has Boston = better than most of that list
Illinois has Chicago = better than most of that list
Pennsylvania has Philadelphia and Pittsburgh = better than most of that list.

You are talking about a single city, like the above commenter said, I mean best collection of big cities

Very few states should qualify as very few states have multiple big cities and it's arguable that Florida really has more than one big city/metro.

Exactly... Thats why only Texas, California, & Florida are the only states in the poll. They are the only states with multiple large cities

I strongly considered putting Ohio in, but Pennsylvania only really has 2 major US cities, & Pittsburgh is going down the path of other rust belt cities

Landslide victory for California.

LA, SF and SD destroy the rest.

Florida cities can't compete with California or Texas. Even Pennsylvania and Ohio have more big time cities than Florida
