Hays... More prosperous, home to a fast-growing state university, not too far from family I have in SE Colorado.

Hattiesburg. My mother was born there. Nice little college town.

Blowing Rock, NC

Slightly over 90 miles to both Asheville and Charlotte. Am guessing Blowing Rock's 3,500 ft elevation means more comfortable summer weather than Blue Ridge's at 1,700 ft elevation. Otherwise, they are similar small towns with about the same population, etc.

Bowling Green, KY or Green Bay, WI?

As much as Green Bay bores me at least it has hockey and access to Lake Michigan.

St Louis or Kansas City?

St Louis or Kansas City?
Kansas City, a city I consider vastly underrated by most.

Cape Cod or Monterey Peninsula?

Monterey Peninsula

Am a little biased as I live just 20 miles east, so am very familiar. Have enjoyed good times there and usually good weather. Monterey is a good walking town. A walking/bicycle trail connects Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, Custom House Plaza and downtown. Good dining options, popular events & nearby scenic areas, too. I also worked there for 11 years. Along with the usual advantages of knowing people in the area and in the nearby Bay Area.

Amherst, MA or Davis, CA?
