Yeah because nothing says "business prestige" like the home office for Visa cards...

Or host of the Teen Choice Awards...

Anyways, this thread is nearing shutdown. I just hope it's not that obnoxious "let's remove a 100 odd posts now" type shutdown. Because this thread is a gold read in terms of some comedy.

Aww feeling left out?

The best ranking on concentration of headquarters' comes from GaWC.

The combined SF and SJ scores place the Bay Area just behind Paris.
GaWC Research Bulletin 430

There's quite a drop off after the Bay Area too and LA doesnt even rank.

GAWC Command and Command Cities, 2012
Tokyo 6.8797
New York 6.5162
London 5.5968
Beijing 5.4434
Paris 5.0274
BAY AREA 4.0590
Seoul 2.1755
Moscow 1.7560
Hong Kong 1.7127
Dallas 1.6883
Washington DC 1.6056
Zurich 1.5518
Chicago 1.4084
Toronto 1.4039

Power+Wealth are prerequisites of Prestige as far as Im concerned and the Bay Area is definitely wins vs LA in both ways,

More people are moving to LA because it's more coveted. LAs more popular for Americans and immigrants than SFBA.

Sorry but no, LA is losing more people to other parts of the country than are moving there.

Net Domestic Migration, 2010-2014
Bay Area CSA +48,321

Los Angeles CSA -179,237

Net Domestic Migration, 2013-2014
Bay Area CSA +17,465
Los Angeles -52,620

Omg.

Maybe cause la has millions more people.

Wow dude.

Nyc loses more than la. Because it has millions more.

So I guess nyc isn't prestigious any more.

The Bay Area is too multinodal for San Francisco to go toe to toe with LA. The Bay Area packs quite a punch, but its not solely due to San Francisco alone.

Money must be factored into determining prestige because it's expensive to live in prestigious places, no?

LOL

Anyhow, attitudes on a host of things are so different between LA and SF.

Persons Earning $75,000+ Who commute via public transportation:
San Francisco-Oakland UA 108,711
Los Angeles City 7,540

Median Earnings of workers who commute via public transportation:
San Francisco-Oakland UA $47,572
Los Angeles City $16,675
Oakland is the trashiest city on the West coast. You're delusional to think Oakland is better than LA. Get the mops because LA mops the floor of stains like Oakland. SF isn't more prestigious and coveted than LA and Oaklands the Detroit of the west coast

Haha no need to be upset. Facts are fatcts.

I was correcting an inaccurate statement made by Estudiamos. In fact, more people are leaving Los Angeles than moving in.

That's life.
