Who is more? Snooty San Francisco or New York. I would appreciate some serious condescending replies please.

New York is very brown and working class, outside of parts of manhattan and a sliver of brooklyn. They are mostly salt of the earth like LA.

SF and the surrounding metro are way more snooty.

San Francisco hands down, there is a reason why San Franciscans get made fun of by enjoying a nice glass of their own farts

This. There's also a reason why South Park has spoofed the pretentiousness of SF and not NYC.

I disagree. NYers think they're the center of the universe. SF folks are definitely provincial and full of themselves, and are quick to brag about startups, apps, etc but most of them realize SF is a weird little boutique town and they don't really think they rule the world- they just have a delusional idea that they make the world a much better place, when in reality, they don't.

So San Francisco is more psuedo authentic hipster vs nouveau riche NY yuppies? Did you like how I used French in the last sentence? Gimme some more smug, will ya? Also, how is gentrification treating Oakland? I hear she's the next up and coming Brooklyn.

Both places are filled with lots of the same money grubbing, insufferable people. SF folks are more passive aggressive and outwardly "chill", whereas NYers get off on "telling you like it is", if nothing more than for the sake of being mean/cruel. With that said, there are plenty of nice people in both places, although both are playgrounds for the rich these days.

As for Oakland, it will always be super weird and uncool, compared to Brooklyn, which nowadays is cooler than Manhattan in most place(unless you're rich, of course). Most Oaklanders seem to prefer it that way, but I think people here are also tired of being poor and dealing with crime, which is why nobody seems to be all that upset that Uber is relocating here and they're making it more like SF east, day by day.

Have you checked out Silver lake or Loz Feliz? Or is the stereotype true that the bay area beards condescend towards the Los Angelans? See, I'm actually trilingual.
