Sorry, but I just don't imagine anything when I think of Washington state.
I feel the same way as you do when people talk negatively about my state (south carolina) but hey what can I do.

PA: Philadelphia and Pittsburg with Alabama in the middle (honestly may be better stated as West Virginia in the middle, sans the oasis that is Happy Valley Go PSU!)

PA is fairly diverse and has a bit of everything, big cities, surburban sprawl, history, unbelievably quaint towns, post industrial decay towns, majestic crountry-side, fertile farmland, mountains, extremely rural areas (actually believe PA has the largest rural population of any state)

On the whole it is fairrly diverse

To me the first thing that comes to mind is "home" though

Pennsylvania, to me, is one of the more tolerable states in the Northeast.

I wouldn't live there due to weather and the politics coming in from Philadelphia, but I'd take it over New York (city or state) or New Jersey any day.

Too many posts seem to be causing hard feelings with negative stereotypes. That seems to be causing members to retaliate with personal swipes, which are always against the rules. This topic is too open-ended and negative to continue if those are the most frequent outcomes. Thread closed.
