Atlanta city is NOT very diverse. Its predominately black. The metro area is much more segregated than Dallas/FW and very obvious to see black people live east and south and white are found mostly north and west. You don't see that in Dallas/FW. Atlanta is not nearly as diverse as D.C. or Dallas. It has a much smaller latin population of course given Dallas is in Texas but due to a higher level of IT and more Fortune 500 companies than Atlanta (i.e. those with more international operations), I've noticed more people of Indian and Asian descent.

Sorry but I glanced at that link you provided and Dallas based on total hours and clear days was better than Minneapolis in two of three months and equal to in another.

There are so many inaccuracies in your statement that I don't even know where to begin. Clearly you haven't spent any time in the northern and eastern suburbs of Atlanta in the last 15 years, if ever.

While I wouldn't really say the city of Atlanta is particularly diverse, it *is* gentrifying and has more Whites moving into the city. Right now, the city is 50% Black and that number is sure to decrease over the next few years.

But what will the diversity of the metro as a whole look like in 10-20 years?

What's interesting about Atlanta is that you would think it's at least a top 20 populated city in America but in reality it's like in the top 40.

Atlanta metro is where you can really feel the population rising,

So my question to someone from Atlanta, Do you guys consider Atl a big city ?

I ask because i feel a true big city has at least 1 - 2 million residents living in the city proper.

So you don't feel like Washington DC nor Miami are big cities? Take a trip to ATL soon, you will be surprised about the amount of energy going on in the core of the city (Midtown, Downtown, Buckhead, etc.)

More diverse than it is today, at least in raw numbers. And if Atlanta is fortunate enough to land Amazon's HQ2, then it would be a good bit more diverse.

Ok but then he could turn around and ask do you think San Jose, San Antonio, and Austin are big cities? Atlanta is a special case like St. Louis, the city has a small population. However, Atlanta is making positive changes to make the core area more vibrant.
