Is it actually 90% African American still?

Atlanta is very popular for West Africans, Jamaicans, Haitians, and East Africans these days. Atlanta is popular for basically every black group

Here is what we got in the South. Ill use Atlanta and compare with Charlotte, DFW, and Houston. Percentages are % of black population of that metro area that is foreign born.

Houston: 9.8%
Dallas/Fort Worth: 9.5%
Atlanta: 8.4%
Charlotte: 5.1%

So yeah, its actually over 90% African American in Atlanta. Story is similar in the Midwest and California (sans Columbus and Minneapolis):

Los Angeles: 8.3%
Chicago: 4.1%
Detroit: 1.6%

And the vast majority of the East Asian American population is Chinese. What’s the difference?

No difference. Chinese dominate Asian Americans just as much as African Americans dominate Black America. Is that what you wanted to hear? Lmao

There arent very many Kenyans or Liberians in the US relative to the number of Koreans and Taiwanese. I dont think the argue that, because China is much bigger than Korea, Japan, or Taiwan, lacking the other groups is not relevant.

I think that is why I would say Boston is very much a Chinese Capital. But I don't think it would be next in line for East Asian capital.
Okay- there aren’t very many foreign born African in the us compared to foreign born Asians, period:

Yes because an African immigrant capital would be DC even though the low o. Those two groups relative to other places.

Him saying oh well there not many people from those countries. There’s not many people from africa in general so let’s keep scale in mind. Doesn’t invalidate the point. If you asked anyone a magnet for African immigrants they’d say DC is one of them.

I did think Atlanta would be higher. Places like Dekalb and Gwinnett Counties have pretty diverse black populations and Atlanta ranks high if not the highest (after the Florida metros and NYC and New England) in black immigration. But part of the diversity that isn't captured accurately is second and third generation folks. It will be interesting to see where the Atlanta metro is in the next 10-20 years. I predict Atlanta will have the black diversity present in Florida and NYC eventually.

At the same time, foreign-born blacks Atlanta do represent 20.8% of the total foreign-born population; exceeding even the DMV by three percent and more than double the percentage of Houston, which is more known being a hub for African immigrants specifically Nigerians. So in essence, Atlanta sort of has become a hub for foreign-born blacks as well, putting it's reputation as the black mecca two-fold. It's just that Atlanta metro's total black population is still more than twice as large as the total foreign born.
