Atlanta. (A suburb of it, anyway. Atlanta itself is too expensive and crowded.) I'm a Southern girl who loves the South.

Seattle seems pretty and interesting, but it rains too much. Plus, it's too expensive.

Chicago is cold and expensive, but I wouldn't mind visiting someday. That deep dish pizza looks good.

Los Angeles seems to be the embodiment of every negative image and stereotype of California. (Plus, it's insanely and ridiculously overpriced out there.) I'm not at all interested in L.A. The rest of California would be nice to visit.

Dallas is too Texas. "A whole other country." Totally cool for those who like it, but it's not for me. Lived in Texas, didn't like it at all. No offense to the Texans. If you love Texas, I hope you get to live there for as long as you desire to.

1) L.A.
2) Chicago (American's best kept secret -- great vibe, nice density, TONS of culture
3) Seattle

Atlanta. Chicago is too cold. Seattle is gloomy. Los Angeles is expensive. I wouldn't want to live in Dallas.

If you are rich or planning on becoming rich soon I would say L.A.. It's probably the best place in America for a young rich person with no family. If you're middle class or less though it sucks.

If you don't mind being miserably cold a good part of the year and your pockets are pretty deep ( you don't have to be rich but better not be on a low budget trying to survive here) then Chicago is the place for you.

If you want nice weather and make atleast decent money but nothing extravagant then Atlanta and Dallas are a pretty close tie for the best in my opinion. I picked Atlanta because I fit this category and I like Atlanta's scenery, diversity and closeness to Florida and East Coast over Dallas.

Seattle would be my choice. Not too cold, not too hot. Unsurpassed natural beauty. Quite urban with lots of charm. Plus its population is highly educated with a robust economy(though that seems to be changing) As for crime, its by far the lowest of the bunch.

Still though, if someone hates the cold, Chicago won't be on their list of places to live.
