Your thread was a different thread. Your thread asked which city in the South was a global city and the most important. Houston, Dallas, Miami, are just as much of global cities as Atlanta. And they're all just as important to the South and the US as Atlanta is(in Houston's case if not more important than the others). This thread ask which on is the capital(which doesn't mean which is more important), and the Capital is Atlanta. So the most important city in the South is Hou/Dal/Atl/Mia, the most global city in the South is Mia/Hou/Dal/Atl, but the Capital is ATL.

Dude, I just did that. You can read. But let me break it down for you:

City of Chicago--7. Chicago suburbs--20. Chicago metro=27.

City of Washington, DC--4. Washington, DC suburbs--14. Washington, DC metro=18.

City of Dallas--12. Dallas suburbs--7. Dallas metropolitan division=19. Add in Forth Worth and its suburbs for a total of 24 for the entire Dallas-Forth Worth MSA.

Ii think their point is that the Houston metro comes out more than the DFW area, I guess.

I know what it is.But several people have brought things like importance in which city should get that distinction. So this is relevant to address those people who DO wish to add other factors in deciding the outcome of this thread.

I know im late, but im from NYC and when people think of the south they think of ATLANTA. I mean Atlanta has the 3rd largest celebrity base in america. Nyc, la then Atlanta. Including Justin beiber, usher, outkast, ted turner, elton john and the list is endless. Atlanta is all over the TV, almost every reality show or tv show is filmed in either la or atlanta. Teen wolf included. When alot of people think of texas they think of cactus, and cowboys. Just to be honest

Atlanta is the capital of the south. People see it as the land of opportunity.

Yeah i'm sure, But when you think of "Texas" thats what you think of. Not "international cities" or any of the stuff i've seen on here. I wish I would've been on here when the discussion was in it's prime.

Because I believe Atlanta is seen more as recognized city than Dallas or Houston....

Well you need to take a trip to Texas if you think that. There are no Cowboys( other than the football team) and cactus in Houston or Dallas.
