"Not as nice as Seattle or Portland"

Funny, because I am an Urban Planning guy. Anyone in Urban Planning will tell you that Portland is often times considered a model city. I met a guy from Portland living in MPLS. I was pickin his brain and aksing him all types of questions and be basically said "Portland is a dump that town sucks"

These guys are passive aggressive (worse than MN)....I have one PMing me right now telling me how great the weather in Seattle is. It's a joke guys -- nobody cares how people perceive you but yourselves. The fact that you get defensive about it makes you look very insecure......about a LOT of things!

Because of our crap weather Minneapolis didn't get overrun by yuppies the way Seattle did or the way Portland will in the near future. So we will still be cool in 20 years.

Minneapolis does not compete well against Portland and Seattle. Between the two, Portland and Seattle are very similar but because Seattle is larger you might find a things not in Portland.

Minneapolis doesn't compete well in regards to what? The Minneapolis area beats out the Portland area in many ways and competes well with Seattle.

Minneapolis has more amenities than Portland and arguably as many as Seattle. Seattle seems to have a better/livelier street scene and connection to neighborhoods but how hard is that when you can predict the weather every day of the week/month/year (mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high 58).
