Their is a difference between Pride and ego.

Texans and Californians have pride; we don't put down other places while bragging about our home. NYers and New Jersey people are the exact opposite.

Texans think we live in best state, but were also open to others opinions. You tell a NYer their hometown sucks, you'd think you insulted their mothers.

There is a difference, but this is not it. In fact you are showing the opposite of what you are trying to say.

How? I didn't insult another place nowhere in that whole statement.

Also, where in real life do you see Texans constantly criticizing every state and stating were better than others compared to NE people??? It's very rare because were modest people and understand that not everyone will love it here.
