Actually, there are a lot of W. African immigrants in the Chicagoland region, and also significant numbers of Haitians and Belizeans. There's even a Jamaican consulate.
Nothing like New York, of course.
thats what i've been trying to say but this man keeps trying mess with what i said. These people are annoying the hell out of me.

The point is not how many of the are in Chicagoland but how many live in areas such as Lincoln Park. The point is that Chicago, as Chicago Tribune described, is very segregated. White areas versus black areas. Black bars versus white bars and for most of you guys this is absolutely normal.
Living in some parts of Chicago it is hard to believe it has such a large black population as you hardly see any people of color....

Tell me about it. I live in Lakeview AND boy is it weird not seeing anyone that looks like me.
It's actually sucking the live out of me. I don't like to go to the resturaunts over because I am usually the only black in the whole place. Whites have no idea how that feels. One of the main reason for my wanting to leave Chicago is the segregation, extreme segregation.
To anyone white, please don't post "oh, I've been the only white at a bar before..........back in college" That's not what I am talking about.
I've said it once and I'll say it again......whites in America have it made and they have no idea.........clueless.

As a black person myself, I be the first one to say its segregated, but why the focus on Lincoln Park? All cities over 1 million have there upper class white enclaves. Outside of Lincoln Park and Lakeview, the Northside is not super white. Northside neighborhoods like Uptown & Rogers Park are over 20% black. Out of all the neighborhoods of Chicago, only like two are pass 90% white.

No, there aren't many West Indians in Chicago. Stop lying already. At least 95% of blacks in Chicago are native-born African American.
West Indians are concentrated in NYC, Miami and Toronto. Everyone knows this. Please show me all the Jamaican restaurants, all the Haitian churches, all the Trinidad Roti stands on the South Side or West Side of Chicago. There are none (ok, maybe there is one or something, but they are very rare).
And you're lying about the Jamaican consulate, too.
There are two Jamaican Consul Generals in the U.S.: NYC, and Miami. No Chicago.

Thank you!!!!Lies for no reason at all. The foolish pride of Chicagoans is amazing.....will lie to defend a city.....pathetic.
Also, here is a link to Google Street View so you can actually see for yourself: Google Maps
It's an honorary consulate, not an official consulate!
Honorary consulates are voluntary, unpaid positions. No office, nothing. They are ceremonial positions.
I know an honorary consulate in Akron, Ohio. It's just a fun thing to do for some folks, because you get invited every three years for a party in Washington.
There are hundreds of honorary consulates for all countries. There are honorary consulates for places like Fiji in places like Tulsa.
The amount of lying and statistic pulling is hilarious. When all it takes is an admission of the truth. Truth is this- Chicago is a segregated and racist cess pool, where black people are either ignored or treated with disdain. New York is a superior city. Is that so hard.
