I think the Houston tower is more attractive, but since the Dallas one has that weird asymetrical diagonal on the side, I think it is the more unique of the two.
Why cant yall ever find a more equal comparison between these 2 cities, if you want to encourage the Dallas vs Houston "rivalry", the least Dallasites can do is provide a more just comparison.
Fountain Place is unique, possibly the most unique in Dallas. Now Williams Tower is AMONG the most unique in Houston, but it isnt the MOST UNIQUE. Since you picked a pointy ANGULAR building, you shouldve chosen Pennzoil Place, or maybe Bank of America Center, or even Heritage Plaza, because, imo, their more unique.
Williams Tower is amazing, but dont you think there is a better match for Fountain Place? Now if it was which is a better skyscraper, then i wouldnt care, because thats more of your own opinion, but when it comes to uniqueness, you want the creme of the crop. At least your choices arent as whacked out at Chase Tower and BoA Plaza, but still.
Its like if i compared Pennzoil Place and Renaissance Tower, and asked which is more unique? Not exactly an equal comparison. Also dont you think people are getting tired of Houston skyscrapers vs Dallas Skyscrapers? Im not, but this is more of a city vs city thread....
This may be among some "more fair"...... comparisons...http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8e/Bank_of_America_Center.jpg (broken link) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._Houston_1.jpg But I like the Dallas building better....really striking but not too "bulky".
I have yet to understand what is so fascinating about the Transco/Williams Tower. A lot of people act like it's one of the greatest structures, but the only thing neat about it is how it towers over the rest of Uptown. And visiters coming along the freeway think they're downtown. But as far as art and architecture are concerned, it's a pretty boring building (one of quite a few others in Houston).
Fountain Place is my pick, and is probably also my favorite building in Dallas. It's very sleek and "Chicago-esque". It would look even better if there was more density and height to surround it.

And when is Dallas going to get a supertall?
I think Dallas won't be building a supertall anytime soon! If Dallas would have put a sire (antenna) on BOA Dallas we would already have a supertall! We already have a spire on one of our buildings why not put one on BOA Dallas!
