It was built for the NHL or NBA. KC is always one of the first cities that comes up when an NHL or NBA team gets into trouble, but so far, KC has only been able to help other cities keep their teams . Penguins etc. Plenty of rumors out there with the Sac Kings (used to be in KC), Detroit Pistons, NY Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes, Nashville Preds etc plus any expansion team talk. But who knows when or if KC will get a team. With 2.6 million people within sixty miles of downtown KC, the region should be able to support at least one major league winter sport.

For now, it's one of the top concert venues in the nation, plus KC hosts quite a few major NCAA events.

Well in Arlington, TX you can catch a baseball or football game then walk across the street and ride some roller coasters!

I haven't been to too many Football stadiums, and none of the ones I have visited were all that great. But as for Ballparks:
#1 AT&T Park, San Francisco CA (its view, location and design make it perhaps the best venue in all of sports)
#2 Camden Yards, Baltimore MD (also with a great location and really the catalyst for all the other great new parks we've seen emerge in the past 25 years)
#3 Ballpark at Arlington, TX (mainly for its design and decor, it's location is not that great)
#4 Coors Field, Denver CO (mountain views, and a great design make this another favorite)
#5 Petco Park, San Diego CA (great spot, but it's facing the wrong way, otherwise it could have been right up there with AT&T)
#6 Fenway Park, Boston MA (it's really a piece'o'junk but you have to include it just for the sense of history. Same goes for Wrigley Field)

After that, it gets really hard to judge. I have not been to all of the parks and a lot of the ones I have been to have been demolished or abandoned since. I haven't been to Miller Park (did go to County stadium a few times back in the day) but I was tempted to list it as 'most innovative' -- even though I know it's not the only convertible park anymore.

Cleveland has their NFL, MLB, and NBA arena/stadiums within walking distance of each other in Downtown. Very convenient and pretty cool... I'd hope for more cities to do this in the future.

On top of the other stadiums I mentioned in Indianapolis, I completely forgot about the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (more historic than any stadiums mentioned before).

You can't even see the entire track from your seat.

Lol. Actually, I meant it more as to include football stadiums, ballparks, and arenas into one word. I mean, I don't consider a 70,000 seat NFL stadium to be reguarded with the same word as a 20,000 seat NBA arena. I mean Staples Center or Madison Square Garden is not a stadium, so thats why when referring to an entire city's collection of sporting venues, I can choose to say stadia, as opposed to saying "What are the top 10 cities for sports stadiums/arenas/ballparks".

Sorry for boring you all.

Allianz Arena looks great.
