Children's Museum of Cleveland needs cash to renovate new home after making way for luxury high-rise | cleveland.com

Regardless of look, I think the infill and additional foot traffic will be nice. As far as this, I agree with them that this could be a blessing in disguise. For one thing, the sum they received for this parcel of land probably gives them more to work with and the Children's Museum hadn't been particularly noteworthy before. Perhaps now, if this new project is completed, people will be more likely to say "it exists", plus it could help draw some attention to Midtown (even a measly 100,000 visitors is significant) that wouldn't have been there before. It will be good for the residents over there of AsiaTown/Midtown, when open, at very least. I'd guess that area might even be more family oriented in some ways than Ohio City/Tremont because of the ethnic presence.

Buried in another 'One University Circle' article is a mention that a companion building is being considered for the land parcel that will be used as a staging area for the construction of this one.

First look: One University Circle high-rise apartments to start rising in January (photos) | cleveland.com

"One University Circle will occupy only 1.3 acres of a 1.9-acre site. The remaining property, also owned by University Circle, Inc., is earmarked for a second phase – though the developers won't say what they hope to build on the land."

I wonder if these high-rises may impair the character of and dominate University Circle. They likely wouldn't have been allowed in Washington, DC, San Francisco, etc.

I'm surprised that Litt didn't address this issue.

Maseybrown,
Not 100% sure, but this might be the 2nd high-rise for the 2nd phase

It's been scaled back from 28 stories, as initially proposed, which I agree would have been too many. 20-stories isn't radically out of character for the 105th/Euclid area, which includes some buildings approaching 20 stories.
