In a previous post you mentioned the inadequacies of the #39F bus line (service only until ~6pm weekdays, no weekend service). Have you ever used the #30 bus to connect to the Windermere Rapid station to go downtown on weekends when the #39F does not run? If so, did you feel it was safe?
In a perfect world, I'd still be car-less. If that were my top priority, I probably would have tried to buy around Larchmere. That's probably the only good transit area that I could afford. Though regardless, my work in Garfield makes that more complicated than a typical downtown commute anyway. I do think I got to the point where I saw so much good in Collinwood/Euclid that I wanted to be here regardless though.

I really do not understand why RTA prioritizes getting people from Collinwood to East Cleveland and not downtown. I used it to go to Little Italy once, it's not terrible but the transfer does kinda throw a wrench in things. My one time wasn't too bad. Although to be totally honest, the idea of waiting at Windermere for a transfer after like 7 or 8 pm is really unappealing. That being said, I'm sure I will do it.

Windermere is likely RTA's most underutilized asset. When I was last there a couple years ago, I'm not even certain the bathrooms were open. Aggressive panhandlers were allowed to operate in the parking lot. It's not a place that I would want to use on a regular basis.

I'm surprised that the regular 39 bus route, let alone the 39F, no longer operates after 7 p.m. I remember riding the regular 39 bus back to Euclid after working late at night.

The 94 route is interesting, too. Back when I was house hunting I considered North Collinwood and the 94 caught my eye since it would get me close to my office at the time, but it's such a slow route. It would have been an hour each way just on the bus, plus time spent getting to and from each stop and waiting for the bus.

Good route in theory, but not very practical in execution.

I can see it happening.

Had I lived in the Cleveland area 5-10 years earlier at a different stage of life, I easily could have wound up there.

I've met multiple people in the Heights who have indicated a soft spot for North Collinwood. It's easy for me to imagine a slightly younger generation moving out there.

+1 on an endorsement for North Collinwood. I brought a house last summer not very far from where BJimmy is. It's nice, quiet, safe, low taxes, fantastic lake access, good freeway access, decent public transit, good local eats along E. 185th and 15-25 minutes from the big box stores of Willoughby and Mentor.
