Can anyone tell me about the area with zip of 28405. The area I have a question about appears to be near the Wilmington Airport, and in New Hanover County. Also near Market Street and UNCW.

Is this a decent area, crime wise? I'm looking (on the internet) at houses down there and am going to plan a trip down there as soon as I can; hopefully before the end of the year; but might not make it until first of next year.

Was just trying to see if it is a "dicey" area or not.

Thanks in advance.

J

I lived in that zip code for 3.5 years and never had a problem or felt unsafe. There are a few sketchy neighborhoods close by, but that is any place in Wilmington. I owned a condo in Azela Trace in that area.

Thanks so much; I really want to get down there to check out Wilmington. This townhouse was on Cobblestone Drive, if that means anything to you. Was an incredible price; but I'm used to inflated prices anyway; and when you throw in how much everything has gone down hill, maybe it isn't.

I lived in that zip for 2 years and never had a problem other than our neighbors who would sit on their porch with a shotgun when we had parties . . .

They were the ONLY problem though. Other than that, it is obviously a college town and that is a college area. So yes you will have occasional petty theft but only to people who leave their windows down in their car.

Im not sure how old you are but if your not looking for a college scene with frequent keggars i might consider moving into a neighborhood back a little towards kings grant(i think its also in that zip)

that area is really hit or miss -- in particular, just north of that on N 30th St, is creekwood, which is probably the worst housing project in the area.
