I have lived in Wilmington about 18 months but haven't explored all the bars/restaurants yet. My uncle and his wife, who are part owners in a brewery in DE will be visiting Wednesday night. They want to go check out craft beers locally. I know of Front Street Brewery. I thought of the Fat Pelican in CB as they have a wide range of beers as well.

I would prefer some place with good food as well. Anyone have suggestions or reviews on Ogden Tap Room, Hops Supply Co, or Cape Fear Wine and Beer.

Thanks for all suggestions and comments.

I like the beer and food at Front Street...Lighthouse Beer and Wine is a great store/beer garden in Wrightsville Beach, but I don't think they have food, although there are eateries within walking distance.

I have heard very favorable things about Hop Supply, although I have not had a chance to try it out yet.

Thanks for your suggestions. Due to the weather, my family will now visit next week sometime. Looks like Front Street will probably be it.

if you want a bar with a huge beer selection, Cape Fear Wine and Beer is my favorite, and would be my suggestion. It is just down the road from Front Street Brewery. (Satellite Lounge and Husk are both worth mentioning, as downtown bars with quality beer selections.)

if the weather is nice, going to lighthouse (basically a beer store on wrightsville beach) and sitting outside and enjoying some beers is fun.

if you want food -- Front Street Brewery is good, and the only place i know of that brews their own beer.

i went to hops supply co. once, probably a year ago -- and the food was good, but the beer selection was limited. Ogden Tap Room is new and i have not visited.

Are they with Dogfish Head? I took the small tour of their brewery in Rehobeth Beach last year and really liked it. I haven't made it to the tour of the main brewery at the Milton, DE location, but would love to sometime...It seems like a lot of great places here have already been mentioned so far. Front Street downtown is a great spot and you can walk to the Husk down the street from it. In the midtown area, I like Hops Supply Co, I ate there last week actually. I'm trying to remember how many beers they have on tap, maybe 10. Carolina Ale House and Kick Back Jack's on College have a lot of good beer selections as well I'd guess at least a dozen (Ale House has more than that outside I believe). I've been to Ogden Tap Room and liked it too. They have 40 beers on tap as I recall so that's a great place they would enjoy. There's a place near the Ogden Tap Room that's supposed to be similar to Lighthouse that's called Fermental, so that might be worth stopping by too if you go to that side of town. Sounds like you've got some tough choices there if they're only here for a weekend
