Hi just moved down here to NC myself from ME When I mean just moved it was last week
So far so good. I am currently living in Snow Hill and working in Goldsboro. I am a trainer for Penske. I havent spent alot of time in the area but it looks good so far. The big cities are probably going to pay better. I have heard that the Greenville hospital is very well equipt. Although Greenville looks like a college town anyhow good luck and dont look back

I am partial to Wilmington NC. Wilmington is on the coast and the weather is great all year round. You can either live in Wilmington or in the outskirts of Wilmington. CNN Money rated it as #7 out of the top ten places to buy real estate right now. New Hanover Medical Center is one of the top employers in the area.

Sounds like you want the suburbs or rural, and rural isn't far from the cities. You could try Raleigh (Wake County), Dunn (Harnett County), Clinton (Sampson County) and Smithfield (Johnston County). All have major hospitals. Also, on the coast, try Wilmington (New Hanover County).

Where is your Son stationed?

If you are looking for a more small town atmosphere than Wilmington, the area from Swansboro to Morehead City is a nice spot. We have three hospitals under an hour away.

Check out my website for more info.

I used to live in New Brunswick just across the border from Maine so I can assure you we have better weather in NC and no blackflies.

Call if I can answer any questions.

Hey there, my wife is an RN working for the state, You didn't say which part of the country you presently live in, not that it is important, but, your present pay scale is a bit steep for this neck of the woods. But, the cost of living is probably a bit less than you are used to. Morehead City, Wilmington both have hospitals, and Ocean, Morehead City may have the better fishing. Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Asheville, all have hospitals, as do several smaller towns. All N.C. hospitals are hiring RN's, different hospitals and/or Universities (that also have hospitals) will have differing incentive, or bonus schedules for new hires. Experienced nurses are in demand in virtually all areas. I would suggest you come down here and see for yourself, take a couple of weeks, tour the state, talk to the nurse recruiters, see what sort of a deal you can come away with.
