Hi everyone my husband has received a job offer in Wilmington NC so we will be relocating to NC from NJ. We have family in Richlands. Obviously there's over an hour ride between the two. We're trying to figure out the best half way point to live between the two. We have children. 13,11 and 8 so safe areas and good schools matter. Looking to rent for $1500 a month or less. Thanks for your help!

The Hampstead and Topsail areas have good schools, and is on the Richlands side of Wilmington. Its still 45 minutes to an hour away from Richlands. I would't be inclined to go much further from Wilmington, if your husband is commuting into Wilmington and you want good schools.

Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, I love both of those towns (city)...One thing, the traffic is something that one must get comfortable dealing with...On some days it can really be a frustrating experience -even when you are used to driving in it...Hampsted area - much better than living as far out as Richlands - nice, but vereeee quiet little town, nice people...would make for a long frustrating commute, IMO. Schools are much better in the N. Carolina coastal towns than even just a little further inland. I am a native of Morehead City, 85 miles to the north of Wilmington.
