All month, we've been hearing about Big Ten speed, Ohio State's "opportunistic" secondary, Wisconsin, Nebraska, etc? This was the year Ohio State would dismantle the Crimson Tide. After tonight, can we still say the Big Ten is the best conference in America?

Soooo....is the Big Ten still the best conference in America?
Apparently not. It's the ACC vs the SEC in the National Championship!

You can't tell me from now on the sports media isn't biased in favor of the B1G in a major way. Everyone was expecting a close game given all we've heard about Ohio State's dominant secondary, Curtis Samuel, Raekwon McMillan. The media built them up as this powerhouse when they were really a powderpuff.

Agree and ohio state didn't even win their conference(red flags)the loss to pen state and escaping michigan(both medicore teams) was a sign they are a powerpuff team.

They got exposed and urban meyer always looses to swampy

And as for bama, last year they got lucky this year watson&tigers are winning it all!

Probably not. But don't tell that to ESPN or ABC.

And they need to stop doubting clemson

1.)underdog against oklahoma last year, guess what?WON and BLEW them out

2.)underdog against osu?WON blew them out 31-0!

Dabo has beaten urban meyer 2 bowl games in a row.

Dabo has beaten top teams(look at his record)clemson outplayed bama and had the lead, last year bama was a 7 point favored and escaped by 5 45-40!

Clemson is a power house team and they are good as bama,by the way bama's weakness mobile qb!!!

Watson put big numbers on bama, this year he is EVEN better, and bama's offense sucks this year.

Sorry bama clemson is gonna win, matter of fact debo and clemson are now the powerhouse school.

No...Big Ten isn't the best conference. The deepest conference this year is the ACC IMO, and they are obviously having the best showing in the Bowls.

But I don't understand why there is so much focus on conferences, rather than teams. All of the Power 5 are similar, in that there are a few really good teams up top; a few really bad teams at the bottom; and a bunch of mid-tier teams in the middle. The mid-tier and bottom teams are so similar that it doesn't really matter their conference, and that's why there is so much parody when they play each other in bowl games. The real intrigue is how the top tier teams stack up.

That's why the selection committee should expand to 8, and just put the winner of each Power 5 in and select 3 at-large.

The reason people believe it is because the big 10 has OSU, Michigan, MSU, PSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin. 4 finished in the top 10, Nebraska was #10 fairly late in the year, and MSU had an off year, but is usually quite good. Two years ago everyone was saying the big 10 was a joke and just did well because they never played tough teams. Then Wisconsin beat Auburn, MSU beat Baylor, and OSU beat Alabama. The ACC is quite strong this year though too: Clemson, FSU, Louisville.

I disagree with top 8 though. The two playoff games this year were objectively pretty bad. In fact, during the 3 years of this playoff system, we've had 2 good playoff games in the first round, 3 good playoff games including 2nd round. Include top 8 and we're going to have more horrible games. If Alabama and Clemson are that much better than OSU and Washington, who wants to see Alabama vs. Wisconsin?
