A 17-year-old Montana girl who studied business administration at California Intercontinental University has become the youngest American in history to earn a doctorate.
Kimberly Strable, 17, of Great Falls, said she presented her dissertation virtually and was awarded a doctorate in business administration with an emphasis in global leadership.
"I'm the third youngest in world history to ever get a doctorate in any subject, the youngest in all world history to ever get a doctorate in business and the youngest in American history to get a doctorate in any field," Strable told KRTV.
I hope she's not surprised by how many people don't want to hire a 17 year old PhD. I read an article about child PhDs a number of years ago, and parents were shocked that employers weren't falling all over themselves to hire these kids. I wish her luck.

But imagine what she can accomplish and learn and earn during her 15 to 20 'Gap' yrs while her peers are stuck in school.!
Indeed best wishes for a lifetime of significant contributions and improvement to society. At least she is no longer stuck in the pathetic USA K-22 school system. She's the true winner.
I have no doubt that the young woman is very capable, but this accomplishment does make me question how rigorous her online only doctoral program was/is.

Well, I doubt she is that capable. True young "geniuses" don't go to schools like CIU.

I don't claim that she's a genius now Just very capable. For all I know, CIU does have a legitimate doctorate program in business, but I do have questions I'd like answered on the matter.

The program is legally legitimate. I question its rigor.
Lol, not even a regionally accredited university, and a for profit, i.e. a diploma mill.
No one in the world is going to give a hoot about this, lol.
But will take this any day over the paths other people that age take. I do appreciate her drive and motivation, but feel the parent's set her up for running into a wall, thus possible negative consequences regarding the motivation and drive she has.

It only has National and not Regional accreditation. So while it’s ok, it’s not a rigorous school.
