Default Ski swap

We have all our equipment from Golf and Ski on Academy Blvd. For the past 4 years we have been swapping our kids skis and boots. Prices are very reasonable (for the ski/boot exchange) and we have been very pleased with the customer service. For the best choice (also discounted ski wear) you really have to go NOW. Sports Authority on Academy Blvd is another place for ski gear. But their selection is much smaller and we noticed that some of the gear is more expensive.
Our family went to the 2010 Ski & Snowboard Expo in Denver last year. We paid around $ 40 to get in (plus parking)... all the good deals (discounted gear) were gone by the 2nd day. One has to go right when they open the doors. We will not go there again. But if you are interested, this year's expo will take place from 11/4 - 11/6 at the convention center in Denver.

Good luck! And have a great skiing season!

I like Keystone the best. It's about a 15-20 minute drive past Breck, so about 2hr-2.5hr from the Springs (taking 24 to 8). Breck can get windy and is very busy. Keystone just has a great feel to it. I also like the free parking that is in walking distance. None of this $10-15 for parking or park 5 miles from the mountain and take a packed and stinky bus.

It's a shame that a place the size and proximity to mountains as Colorado Springs is no closer to skiing... via Monarch... than Pueblo is. Anybody ever ski The Broadmoor?

For the most part, the price of skiing has gotten way out of hand.
I'd love to see that re-open.

Monarch is teaming up with shell again starting in Jan 2012. If you buy $10 of gas you get a free pass to Monarch. RP

Where is the snow this winter? Crested Butte has only had 20 inches TOTAL this season.
If it weren't for snowmaking everyone except Wolf Creek would be closed. RP

It's early. Not all snow years are the same. Sometimes the snow comes to the mountains, sometimes it doesn't.

Gotta pay to play!

I haven't been skiing for two years now, just don't have the time. It's a lot of work and money to go skiing for a day!
