Glad you got home ok. Similar thing happened to me outside Fairbanks, Alaska back in the '80's. In the dark, below zero...had to walk out through some fields to a diner where I got AAA to come get me. Thankfully it was a Chevy and the part was in stock. Back on the road in a day.

Glad to hear you are safe and got home okay.

Shouldn't be too hard to find another trunion for that with the reproduction parts available these days. Did the bolt fall off and allow it to drop? Sure did a number on the floor board.

This nut came loose and that's all it took.

It used to have a ball and trunion, but my driveline mechanic cut that off and put a u-joint and yoke and companion flange.

Not sure if I put the nut and washer on the wrong way. In any case, I'm using loctite this time.

He told me to bring my drive shaft in too. Somehow, it looks ok. We'll see.

Thanks.

My parents have been going through kaos as my mom was hospitalized a couple of weeks ago with a pulse of 30 bpm. So she got a new pacemaker. At 81, this set her back a bit.

But my dad, who is 79, has "memory loss" kicking in, wo, during that event, he went to the store to get some things and got lost, twice. So, we had the talk and I had to ask for his keys.

I just wanted to break away for a few hours Friday night to go watch some hs football.

But, we'll get through this. Sort of a rough patch, this month.

Been through that with both parents. Lost my dad in 1981 and my mom last year at age 85. These past few years I've also lost a nephew, a sister-in-law, my mother-in-law and several friends.

Hope everything works out for you and your family, these are tough times.

Not to offend or be presumptuous (I'm not religious) but my prayers are with you McG. Take care.

Thanks and condolences. If whiskey don't kill me, I'll live till I die.

Mike, you've got me thinking. Maybe I'll get a new rear end out of this deal. 380 something sounds pretty good.
Wow. "Only" $225? AAA and especially AAA plus pays for itself with one tow. Because this is Colorado, there are times when tows are fairly long-distance. If your auto insurance doesn't offer this basic service (some do), you might want to look into AAA if you do a lot of out-of-town driving.

But all that aside - glad you made it home safely!

Agreed. Since I've had several classics and a motorhome, I have a AAA+ membership. Covered a tow of my '73 crew cab truck from the far side of Pueblo to the Springs once. Also towed one of my '67 Dart from Woodland Park to the Springs. Also utilized them several dead battery jumps back when we had our older Honda and you could inadvertently flip the lights on by using the turn signals. Haven't needed them in the last few years though (knock on wood).
