Highway 65 is closed today over the Grand Mesa for avalanche control. Seems they got several feet of snow up there.

Cloudy and 18 degrees this morning.

A quick moving storm system will sweep southeastward across the area this weekend, bringing widespread precipitation to the region late this morning into Sunday. The heaviest snow is expected to fall this evening as a cold front pushes through, with a variety of winter weather advisories in effect, see NWS Grand Junction, CO for the latest. Brief high pressure will build in on Monday for dry weather, with another chance of snow Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will remain at below normal levels the next several days.

I think Pueblo will get 3-6 inches of snow out of this storm. More if it becomes a Albuquerque low.

Just got back from walking the mile to the mailbox. Cloudy in the upper 20's and a howling cold east wind. I'm glad the high country is getting snow, such as it is. Just wish I could get more here.
