Unfortunately, this storm, like so many others this winter, is going to move through too fast to deposit heavy snow. Also, these storms tend to produce dry, powdery snow that make skiers happy, but do little to improve the snowpack. It's better than nothing, but not any kind of "deal-changer" event for the severe to extreme drought--actually now being classed as "exceptional" by the Climate Prediction Center (the worst classification of drought)--that plagues much of Colorado.

The snow we got a couple days ago in the Springs started off with some good moisture in it. Then the north wind started up, and most of the moisture began to get sucked out of the snow.

I woke up at 5:30 and looked outside. There was just a dusting at that time but it was coming down heavily. Been coming down hard ever since. This is in Louisville.

Eldora updated their snow report at 9:45 to 8". We have 8" here too now. Still snowing and no sign of stopping. This is the most snow we've received in one day all season.

After 2 whole inches of snow, the sun is coming out and most of the snow has melted. But anything is better than nothing. At least the mountains are getting a good snow. Let's hope for a wet March!
