I am single and have always wanted to buy a Horse property in Colorado, Have no idea why but I'm going! I need advice on a part of Colorado that has good property value and half decent weather. approx. $150,000.00 give or take is my budget, A good Christian Church would be a big plus!

They have a saying in Colorado: "If you don't like the weather...wait 5 minutes." You might find a good deal on land next to the Arkansas river between Canon City and Florence Colorado. You will have a few days in the summer when the temps get close to or exceed 100 but overall the climate is mild. This area might be within your budget but may not have the job you are looking for.

Canon City is a nice area with very little winter weather, it's very hot and sunny in the summer though with very little shade (even by Colorado standards). Cost of living and land is also low.

Going to be tough to buy a horse property on that kind of budget here, unless you want to sleep with them.

I have not bought a Horse yet nor have I found work, but plan on finding work once I've settled in. I am an Electrician.

If you can, drive Highway 115 from Canon City to Florence. It is an excellent area for horses, affordable and shaded by large cottonwood trees along the river. You may also be able to find a modest house on a few acres that is within your budget. After that take highway 67 south of Florence and check out Florence Mountain Park or Wetmore, Colorado which are both in the pines/fir trees. There are a number of Federal prisons nearby but during the time I lived in Canon City there were no escapes and no problems. Just consider them non-polluting industry.
