Do you really think you need to carry a 'huge rake' just to move the horse manure off the trail? Just just strap some sort of little scoop on there somewhere. Or, for that matter put your hand in a bag and push it to the side. Even just using a stick would be better than nothing.

I never had a problem with this because horse poo is not as offensive as from a carnivore, the dog. It does not smell the same. Obviously, the authorities have it right as it can be scattered along the trail; perhaps some do that with the doo. My old old father lives adjacent to a big trail, along clear creek in Arvada, and he just cackles with joy, as he collects the horse dung for his garden.

I ignore the infantile adults who shoot fireworks. I ignore the dog owners with the unleashed pets. I ignore the crazy fast auto drivers. I ignore the drunks. I ignore many miscreants with their obnoxious and illegal deeds. Well, I guess I can just add this to my list of behaviors that I ignore, so I will not go obsessively crazy.

Some behaviors, regardless of the illegality, are just a part of regions and difference in people. We do live in the Great West, so horse droppings are common. You just learn to accept these as parts of the color, the flavors and in this case, the odors of life, so you can

Oh, if that bothers you, I invite you to move to my former city of New York. You will learn quickly to ignore the overall lingering smell of urine and the human feces that you will step over in the subway stations. You will learn to accept it because it is part of the "odorous" ambiance of the "Big Apple" or as I sometimes thought, "the Big Turd".

Equines are herbivores, canines are carnivores.

(I can see I've now offended the horse-loving-middle-aged-female demographic, so this argument is probably for nought, but here goes nothing...)

I'm a vegetarian... Do you mind if I go out there and crap on the trail everyday? You can just ignore it, right?

I'm willing to accept that difference to a degree, which is why I say it's acceptable to just scatter the droppings to the side of the trail, but to just let it go right in the middle of the trail and then move on shows a blatant disregard for all other trail users, just as much as letting your dog go and not pick it up.

I suppose what I find most disconcerting here is that no one (except me) even seems to care. Every single response I received on this thread was to the tune, of 'just ignore it', 'find another trail', or 'it's natural, get over it'. Yet, everyone would no doubt be up in arms if I broadcasted that I pee in the park and leave my dog's poo in the trail. It really just shows how people are just herded around by mass mentality. No one seems to care about anything until everyone else does and then any little wrongdoing becomes a federal offense.

Default Colorado Jokes

1. You carry your $3,000 mountain bike atop your $500 car
2. You tell your husband to pick up Granola on his way home and so he stops
at the day care center.
3. Life is measured by the amount of snow
4. A pass does not involve a football or dating.
5. The top of your head is bald, but you still have a pony tail.
6. Joining the mile high club doesn't involve airplanes
7. Ski lifts are the main mode of transportation.
8. Forts don't involve the military.
9. Traffic is two people on a slope.

I'm doing great!!

My town is doing okay. It would be much better if they finished up with bridge construction and finished up construction on the West ends major N-S corridor.

Can you post pictures of the bridge? I always like to see a nice new bridge lol

We are good, would be better if the economy was better lol Pueblo to is waiting on a major bridge to be done and some downtown buildings to be built....

I don't think I have any pictures of the bridge. I will look in my archives and look around to see if anyone else has one. It's not a very architectually appealing bridge. It's just a simple 4 lane bridge over a creek. My town is doing a similar project with it's downtown buildings also.

Coincidence?

Default Will Colorado vote Democrat in 2012?

Considering it went to Bush twice.

And that (most of us will admit that) we don't know where the country will be in 2012....still:

What are your thoughts on Colorado becoming solidly Democratic as opposed to being a 'battleground state'?
