Yes, Bob Berwyn was fired as part of the fall-out from that brouhaha.

From what I hear from friends in Vail this Christmas was a little busier than last year, but the snow is a major concern. From my experience in Vail, when you have such a deficit of snow to start with it you never catch up.

Despite Christmas and New Years having some business, word is that January is looking dead. So if you want a deal, it might be a buyers market for lodgings in Vail. That is if you want to put up with the lack of snow.

I know plenty of people that have been fired from Vail Resorts! In high levels of management as well. If you don't tow the PC line in whatever their freaky CEO wants at the moment, you are out. Not to mention other nonsense and politics going on.

The biggest mistake VR ever made was moving the headquarters to Denver and hiring that CEO who is useless.

Vail has been redeveloped big time this past decade. Some of it was necessary, but also it was clear with some of these massive projects failing or slowing down in the village it has gone too far. With the over development and high cost of going there, Vail I believe is on a decline. People are finding other places to go and many people that live there are seeing the light that business is shifting elsewhere.

Interesting... I just read this article in today's Denver Post:
How accurate are ski areas' snow reports? Colorado may be better than most - The Denver Post
The headline in the paper read "Snow kidding: Profs exposed a fudge factor" not the headline on the website...

I just got back from Keystone and while not the best conditions I have seen they are good. The place was busy too in fact I heard that the Keystone lodge had the busiest new years in years.
