Steak and Shake closed, but I think they are coming back. I read an article about why all of their restaurants are closing. Apparently they are switching from a waiter/waitress style restaurant to an order at the register type similar to most other burger joints. The kitchen equipment that they have did not support that type of service though and they were making the transition slowly at all of their locations, but COVID was more of a reason to just close up shop and make the changes all at once by closing most of their doors.

It did, I was commenting they had about zero chance of survival even before Covid. Freddy's is my favorite burger place on Killian right now.

Steak and Shake was doing very well and they took most of the business away from Freddy's when they opened. Freddy's is basically the same restaurant but double the price. A combo at Freddy's runs around $10 while you can get the same at Steak and Shake for $6. I hope this location comes back after Steak and Shake makes their transition.

Why would they close if they were doing well? And what do you mean after they make a transition? The location is for sale.

Check my post from earlier today, and anyone that lives in that area could tell you that Steak n Shake took most of Freddy's business when they were there. At one point I thought Freddy's would have to close their doors.

For some reason I completely missed that post. Good information, thanks.

Now, for our side of town, I prefer Five Guys. One of the few reasons to go into the center of Sandhills Shopping Center.

I’m happy about the Arby’s. The quality of food at the Lake Murray Blvd location is subpar to say the least.
