There have been reports in the Chattahoochee River but nothing significant. You have to go further south to Lake Eufaula to see any.

Curious to why you are asking?

Species Profile: American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) | SREL Herpetology

This shows the line of gator population in the south.
Columbus is well south of the line. I really would not
worry about gators in the area lakes, but I would be careful swimming at night in any of the lakes spring thru summer.Though when I was
younger we did it all the time, but populations over the years are
surley increased, as they are a endangered species.

What about the feral hogs. Are they in the area?

There are wild hogs near the Fort Benning/Fort Mitchell area. My neighbor, a soldier, actually killed one last year.

Yes there are!
there's a gator crossing on the Bikeway/Riverwalk South. if yiu smell a special kind of funky swamp smell, a gator is probably in the area,
Few years ago a 12 or 13 footer was found in a drain behind one of the post housing areas.
a 13 was shot down at river bend park,
ask the people at Oxbow meadows they have some resident gators.
Lake Eufaula is full of them.
you can contact DNR to draw for a permit to kill one gator in Eufaula.

Not north of Lake Oliver and the dams. You have to go south of Columbus before you see any.
