When we get a robocall and I'm not busy I start talking to them in Hungarian, which creates a great deal of confusion before they hang up.
Even better is when I pretend I'm hard of hearing. I turn on the speaker phone and yell back something like this: "I can't hear you, can you please speak a bit louder?"
They respond, much louder now, to which I yell back: "I still can't hear you, please, please speak louder!"
Remember now, there might be two dozen dudes in the same room, and my dear companion is the only one yelling. Everyone stops and looks at him.
On a good day I can keep them yelling for a minute or two before they realize that the tables have been turned.
And yes, you can try this at home, for fun.
I get the microsoft call every now and then. I just tell them I haven't used a microsoft product for over 10 years; that I use Linux. One time though when the guy said he could see that my windows computer had a virus and he needed to get into it, I told him that was amazing since I didn't own a computer.
