"Malvertising is the latest way for criminals to infect your computer with malware – and the only thing you need to do to allow it is to visit your favorite website that relies on advertising.
That's because they're slipping bad code into ads that are put onto those websites through advertising networks. Big name websites like Forbes, Huffington Post and the Daily Mail have been the focus of attacks.
I was just trying to find the article that Worren claimed said they sent you malware if you used an ad blocker.
I have since read Dave people just kept clicking CONTINUE 3 times and it lets you read thier stuff ANYWAY..... I wonder if its all BS just to see how many will disable thier ad blockers??
I'll do something about it. I will block ads and stop visiting sites like Forbes who can't manage their website and protect their customers or visitors. Who's with me?

You do realize that any website that uses 3rd party advertising (which is most of them) has the potential to serve malware, and you won't know about it until after the fact? You'd have to stop visiting 3/4 of the web.
Not to mention the long list of sites that have already done it.

Okay then I won't visit 3/4 of the web. 1/4 is still a lot of web.

Been blocking ads for years here. As for visiting sites; if they require me to turn off ads then I don't go there, otherwise it's all good.

What I'd like to know is how this malware affects individual computer users. What do these companies gain by tracking one's usage of, say, Words With Friends, and so on? (I'm sorry; but I know nothing about other available games.)
It's not exactly news that anything and everything we do on the Net is tracked by someone for something. If one isn't breaking any laws or otherwise doing anything wrong then why does one need to care?
We have never needed new technology to falsely accuse someone of something. We even made a criminal out of Christ (in the eyes of men), so what makes the present methodology any different? If someone wants to frame you for something badly enough, you'll be framed - period. 'Twas ever thus.
So, what's the problem with so-called malware? What does it do that hasn't been done throughout recorded history?

We aren't talking about tracking, that's not what malvertising does.
Worst case it can aquire account passwords and remove money from your accounts and use you credit cards, or encrypt the files on your personal computer and require payment for you to get them back.
It can get access to your email accounts, facebook, what ever else might be important to you.
