Well, he spent his entire time in Rocky Hill and on the Berlin Turnpike. I suppose that's just average to a visitor.
Yeah, very vanilla. Like I said, next time he's in town, suck it up (since I know you said you hate going out) and take him out for sushi in New Haven, and go to Bar after for a beer and some pool. After a few beers, grab a slice of pizza.

Preferably Miya's then Bar. Maybe try the original hamburger when stumbling out at 2AM. Sounds like a good time to me.

That's kinda lame though lol. A bar is not necessarily representative of a location. You can't make a wise judgment on an entire state based on spending an hour or two in a bar drinking beer. Besides, I refuse to drink beer. It's not healthy at all.

Wow, great attitude. Yankee had a great example - Bar has an attitude that is very New Haven and a great slice of CT. You'd have to spend time there to understand it. You've got Yalies lounging in front, and a bumping club in the back, legendary New Haven pizza, free live music on some nights, and housemade beer and a great wine selection all in a very cool post industrial space. It's very much local, and right across the street from the Yale campus and the birthplace of the hamburger.
How else do you experience a state if you've got a day or two to be there besides going out and having fun? What are you going to do, watch the grass grow? I'd be pretty underwhelmed too if I had a tour guide that didn't want to go out and experience bars and other hot spots.

Wrong....craft beer (the good stuff) is indeed healthy for you when you drink in moderation. There is also nothing better than to drink at Delaney's in New Haven with friends over a glass of Stout or Porter...my favorite. So yes, KidYankee's suggestion is a great one and 99% of us would agree.

Correct. Hops are good for the heart.
I gotta check out Delaney's. Heard so much good. Prime 16 and Cask Republic also have epic beer selections.

You are kidding me? No wonder he had a bad impression. someone should have directed him to West Hartford Center or any of the towns Kidyankee mentioned. That is like taking someone to McDonalds and saying this is what ALL Americans only eat. Jay
