There really is no "rush" mentality in New Canaan. Trust me, i kind of almost want to give them a boot in the butt sometimes to get them to move a little quicker. LOL.

Agreed, but once they get onto the highway to leave town, all hell breaks loose.

LOL - perhaps your "Facebook friends" don't know what real traffic is - how many of them have dealt with 95 from Bridgeport to Greenwich on a daily basis? My guess is none (but I'm sure you'll claim they're all from Stamford). My wife commutes to Stamford 1-2 times per week from Branford and the least stressful part of her drive is through New Haven. Actually, traffic issues going over the bridge is extremely overrated. The worst traffic on 95 in the immediate New Haven area is 91 getting onto 95N in the evening, or the connector going from downtown to 95N or S in the evening.

And yes, 7 is congested. I lived a stone's throw from the Wilton border and am extremely familiar with the area and it's traffic patterns.

Just look for the ubiquitous New Canaan identifying stickers(i.e.: NC Rams, My dog digs New Canaan, Merry Christmas Mikey, etc.,) on the back of their vehicle.

DW came home a few weeks ago laughing at one of her co-workers who has this on the rear of her Subaru.

7 is a pleasure. Highway portion and all through Wilton. We drive it several times a day, morning and evening rush, to and from pre-school, downtown Wilton chores/shopping, weekends. Full exposure and never an issue or traffic plagued.

Kid: sounds like your wife is hitting the q bridge pre rush to get to Stamford between 8 and 9:30 (I'm guessing). Not a good barometer of the real commuting experience. My wife takes my newborn to Madison for therapy once a week, appt is 9:15am. Traffic on 95 up to and through NH is on par with rt 15 through mid Ffc.

It's actually more disparate than you might think. Roughly 4x (or 400%) higher in guilford. Hardly a rounding error. But I do appreciate your sarcasm.

Actually, 400% higher would mean 5x. Like if I said 100% higher, it would mean 2x. Or 50% higher would be 1.5x.

But I advise you to steer clear of Guilford for fear of crime, nonetheless. In Wilton, just don't get into any conversations about investment advice.

What is AIG? Did they commit a crime?
