Burlington would be considered a step UP with regards to wealth. It is actually the wealthiest town of them all by household income, and by quite a bit:

Burlington: $116,419
Simsbury: $110,281
Avon: $$107,447
Glastonbury: $102966
Farmington: $81,554
West Hartford: $79,499

Not really. Burlington's income is higher because it does not have many lower priced homes and no lower income or multi-family housing like the other towns do. An executive coming into the area looking for the most prestigous town to live in would choose West Hartford, Farmington, Avon, Simsbury or Glastonbury over Burlington. You can see this in the home prices. Comparable homes in Burlington to those in these 5 towns would have a lower price. Also, Burlington has no homes listed on Realtor.com over $1,000,000. All of the other towns do. Still Burlington is a beautiful town and the schools are good. Jay
