It looks like the state is closer to a new budget and that many of the more drastic proposals by Governor Malloy are being phased in over the coming years rather than just hitting everyone all at once. I am sure this was the Governor's plan all along but by making such drastic proposals now eased the burden of the actual hits. Lets just hope they know what they are doing. I am not all that confident though. Jay

I think in your case because you were there less then 5 years you were given the back what was taken out of your paycheck (2-5%) plus interest.

DOA. No way are there the votes for this since the Dems will have to pass this on party lines. All it takes is one Dem in the senate or four in the house to cross party lines and kill this. Think its gonna be a long summer for our legislature.

This opinion piece does a decent job at explaining the future of employment in our state. With three of our largest employers out hiring and expanding here there could be a shortage of skilled workers to fill those positions. The state is working with the employers as it has in the past but not sure if it is enough. What do you think? Jay

This spells trouble. Over $4.6 B in deficits projected over the next two years. Income tax receipts are nose diving over $450m in the hole. This is the worst since the recession for tax collection. This is the worst case scenario and will force more revenue generating items. CT is not doing well.
