Again, from an investor's point of view, hard to argue with the results. Their stock is at an all-time high, and never took the beating that say, GE's did. But if you're an employee...buyer beware.

Bobtn, I just saw this news. It's not good sign for the SE region that has been just plagued in rough times (from Pfizer to EB). That is a total of 700+ good jobs lost in the past 2 weeks between EB and P&W. Meanwhile we added 11,700 jobs in July which if you read are mostly part-time jobs. This is a huge red flag that the State should see.

Also, I was reading an article on Malloy's recent claim about job creation and something caught me as odd. Many of the newspapers are claiming he cut the State Employee Workforce by 1,200 jobs. But what they forget to mention is that Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods employees are counted under State Employees numbers. The major layoffs at these two casinos would have contributed to that employee job lost.

Cut taxes, slash services, and hope the Republican ideology of money coming down from the top saves all of Connecticut ; )

Connecticut is experiencing on a larger scale what small CT towns have done to cities like Hartford. The grass is always greener and the taxes cheaper in smaller suburban towns. Now the whole state is experiencing the same.

Makes me sad on two levels. One it is a great company (known world wide) from my Hometown and two because its a loss of expansion jobs we in CT could use right now.

This makes 3 gun manufactures that have either left or expanded into others States. (PTR, Ruger and Now Stag). What concerns me is that other companies they are suppliers to these companies who are local will be hurt. Wonder when Colt will relocate/expand to Texas (I heard they are building a brand new facility down there).

Malloy is a great Governor for the Carolinas.

Because the government is such an efficient allocator of resources? You really think historic tax raises coupled with an increase in government spending is appropriate during the worst downturn since the Great Depression? I have no problem with raising taxes when the economy is doing well, but to raise taxes when its as bad as its been in generations makes no sense. The best course would have been to cut taxes across the board, putting more money in everyone's pockets to stimulate the economy.
