Cold is half just a state of mind. My son was outside for 4 hours yesterday. No complaints. I played with him for two hours, had a long-sleeve t-shirt on. Got sweaty and had a blast.

Agree, my wife went out with no coat on and when she came back and I asked her she said "oh I guess I forgot to grab one." I don't think I'll be forgetting my coat so I guess she's tougher than me lol.

All I know is that its cold outside. Struggling past teens AGAIN! Has NWS even put out a graphic on all this regarding records or how close we are?

This feels like it is never going to end. Every day I check the 10 day forecast to see if there's anything remotely in the "average" range in the future.

the weatherundergound.com puts out records info on their site. scroll to the bottom:

Looking at Amherst, MA no records broken, and not that close (all record highs were 12°F and below, most in the single digits). Its length rather than the intensity of the spell that's noteworthy.
