Current temps on left. 10-30 below normal East of Mississippi. Wind Chills on right. Feels like Sub Zero from DC northwards.

Mt Washington Wind Chill is actually -63 but this software is capped out at -50 (don't ask)

Normal Mid February Max is 40°, Min is 25°.

This forecast looks like it's for the mountains not coastal CT! WOW. I'm used to seeing just like 1-2 days worth, not a whole week especially in February! Crazy.

Broken Record Alert* Theres STILL no thaw or warming period in sight possibly going into March now. Been saying this for so many weeks now. GEES

That would explain why AccuWeather is saying "cloudy" for NY and southwest CT for Tuesday/Wednesday.....though they are also claiming "flurries" for tomorrow night which I'm not buying.

How did you know? Yeah, huge change overnight. They all say snow for Northern Gulf States and not for us. That "suppression" thing. This time might be believable with how strong this air is. We'll see

Usually it's a trend we see, not a drastic shift from big storm to nothing.

One of the weather blogs I follow on Facebook mentioned the possibility of a NORLUN trough setting up somewhere between NJ and RI giving a small area a burst of heavy snow for the Saturday storm.......

This Weekend...

Listen.... I seen Wind Gusts go Bust, but that's just with an ordinary situation...

You don't have to understand these images except the last one.

Those are wind gusts Sunday.

Do you guys know the power and the energy that happens when a storm dives SouthEast, then all of a sudden stops, and makes a turn Northeast like that????????????????????????? Similar to Sandy how it was moving Northeast then all of a sudden gets sucked NorthWest. The energy that goes into that is insane.

This storm blowing up into a sub 980mb low is another aspect. The storm is bombing out.

This will be a memorable storm for New England. Couple this with the temps in the teens & 20s AND SNOW and you got the memory waiting to happen. Eastern New England going to get hit with this.

Frigid today. Lots of slick spots on the roads because of the low temps too.

As for this weekend, unfortunately Saturday is a "normal" grocery day for us so I can't wait to sit in lines of people buying bread and milk. All forecasts I've seen seem to say 3-6" for my area and some wind, nothing like what your stating above. Also not that I believe them I'm just saying it seems to be downplayed for CT. The stations have apparently focused their reporting on Boston which is getting slammed I know but the only stories around here are town budgets for snow removal.

Yeah Eastern New England worse than Southern New England which is us but you'll know and feel the power Sunday when you see the winds and the blowing snow and sub zero wind chills.

Here's the latest Snow Total Forecast. 4-8" across CT... I'm sad to leave Maine out here. I still can't fathom a snowpack of 80-100 inches.
