Glastonbury is rural? Really? It's pretty much THE epitome of suburban.

Marlborough is quite suburban, as well.

Nothing in CT really can be considered rural. Even the backwards confederate-flag waving towns in Windham County and much of the I-395 corridor are within 10-15 minutes of a mall.

To add to this thread:

Manchester:
-Corey's
-Shady Glen
-Buckland Hills retail megalopolis.

Fairfield: my hometown, great downtown, kind of like divided into 2 places, we usually call them the 95 side and the 15 side (pretty obvious why) they basically look like 2 different places. 95 side is based on the coast with downtown. 15 side is a very little rural, quieter, and feels far from the coast but its actually like 1-3 miles. 2 different worlds in one town.

New Haven: My favorite major city in CT. Best nightlife. Near Yale University. Great Districts especially: East Rock, Yale, Fair Haven Heights, and Quinnipiac Meadows. New Haven is also kind of like 2 different parts. The main part west of the Quinnipiac River which is like downtown. Then the little part east of the river: Fair Haven Heights, Quinnipiac Meadows, and East Shore. If I ever lived here I would live on the east side and then go to the west side for shops, etc. East side is a little quieter.

Glastonbury: One of my favorite towns in CT. Place for small family reunions. Good rural and quiet area. Feels far from everything even though it isn't. Very scenic though with trees and woods. Some restaurants, shops, etc, but not a whole lot. Great Schools. Close to Hartford if any need for shops, and downtown.

Dairy Queen there. Town is the best coastal feeling in CT and its based on the coast. I love walking on the streets there in the dark.

East Haven: Anthony's Ocean View. Got married there, love it, family knows Anthony.

Southington: Aqua Turf, also owners of the Farmington Club. Both good places, it is a wedding factory as I call it but they do a very nice job.
FYI - Anthony's is located in New Haven, not East Haven. Jay

Yes, parts of Glastonbury are semi-rural. There are a number of nice farms in town. Sort of a balance between suburban and rural. Jay

Northwestern CT is rural. There's mountains and miles of forest with only small towns in between.

Default Guilford

An amazing town with one of the nicest Greens, a town which also has many wonderful trail systems for hiking and biking, a beach on the Long Island Sound, lakes, and rivers. Sweet little shops around the Green and many fine restaurants. It's been a wonderful place to raise my children. Thank you, beautiful Town of Guilford!

Branford: Branford Land Trust (the best BLT in the world ) The Trolley Trail, Thimble Islands, Rose Orchard

I was only in CT for 8 months. Lived in Branford and commuted to Groton daily. Easy commute and I fell in love with CT via Branford.
