And for any measureable snows 0.10"+

Latest

Bridgeport: January 19, 2007 (only 11 yrs since 1948 had to wait until after Dec 15th!)

Hartford-Windsor Locks: January 26, 1928 (only 7 yrs since 1905 had to wait until after Dec 15th WOW!!)

In other words.... it usually happens by now!
I wish you had put in a Jan 1st- 15th . That may well be the winner.

Yeah, Portland got screwed. Typical situation that they miss stuff. Meanwhile it snowed pretty good today and this evening in Maine.

Yeah, I had thought about that right after it was posted. Would of been more fun but figured by mid December it usually happens so whats the point in having a January option.

Maybe we'll do one for next blizzard. Lol

Nope. No snow "chances" till mid month. Done. Would have to be after mid month and who knows, might be further at this pace.. There "might" be something around the 18th but so far and we all seen what has happened with those chances.

The last time we waited for measurable snow till after Dec 15th ...

Bridgeport (11 times in 67 yrs)
January 19, 2007
Before that was Jan 13, 2000

Windsor Locks/Hartford (only 7 times in 110yrs)
January 18, 2007
Before that was Dec 28, 1990

Cool tid bit. Every single year had below normal snowfall in the 1980s for Bridgeport. 179" in 10 yrs. We've gotten that much in last 3 winters.

And an early congratulations to the winners. With a warm up and no snow in next 5 days, here are the winners who guessed after December 15th for 1st 1" snow.

From NWS NY

Can you imagine in 1973 waiting to the very end of January for first snow in NYC? Mid January for Bridgeport. Which means we'll only be weeks away from a record of not getting snow yet.

at this rate, the first snow won't fall until Dec next year - if it's cold enough then.
this weather sucks. what is it about CT that allows temps to be in the 60's in mid December? not only unseasonable but ridiculous. last i checked we were in the northern US but we might as well be living in the Carolinas or Georgia.
