I am a young professional in mid 30s moving from Miami to CT. I will be working in downtown Hartford, and I am looking for a town in CT to live in that has easy access to freeways, bus stop/ good public transportation to be able to commute to downtown Hartford. It must be a safe town, affordable (around $700 per month in rent). I was looking at Middletown, but don't know much about it. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Felicia

There are towns that have freeway access, but public transportation is very very limited in the region. A car would be essential to get into Hartford (or most anywhere where you would work) Towns that do offer some public transport into Hartford would be Wethersfield, Windsor, West Hartford, Bloomfield, and East Hartford..but keep in mind that they're not that frequent.

Bus service is good in the immediate hartford area. The towns mentioned all have good service. Jay

Yes for commuting purposes bus service in Greater Hartford is fairly good. There are many commuters who takes buses from the suburbs (inner and outer suburbs ...from as close as Wethersfield to as far out as Colchester/Marlborough) to work in Hartford at Travelers, AETNA, the Hartford, etc.

This being said you will need to research bus routes to make the commute work for you...
