$9 for a in state resident to park at Kent Falls.....seriously? I took a visit on the way back from North Mass. It's a pretty area for sure, but $9 for a nice waterfall with a few trails and some open grass? Is the $9 entry pretty standard for other state parks in CT?

Some are more, some are free. It varies.
Do you really want out-of-staters trashing our parks and paying nothing, so that taxpayers foot the bill? No thanks.
If you frequently go to CT state parks you can buy a season pass for $ 67.00. It will get you into any state park from the little forest parks to the big Long Island Sound parks.
Only problem is that it has to be attached to the windshield of your car which means you're stuck using that particular car to go to parks.
Agree that's absurd. It's not like it's a national or state treasure. It's a park. It's a place where people go to run with their dogs...I mean camp...I mean bike...I mean off road...I mean hunt...I mean have a fire and make some s'mores...I mean...oh wait, all that's illegal at most or all CT parks. I meant to say, it's a place where people go for a brisk walk in a visually appealing setting as opposed to say, the gym treadmill . Paying for the privilege in a state that spends tax dollars promoting being healthy seems rather, inefficient and wasteful, no?
Unlike Mass where it's, $2, $8, $10, $12, or $14. It's $10. In CT it's a straighr fee during the weekend and $6 after 3/weekdays. It's actually a better deal to get the Heritage Pass. Been to Mass Parks they are a lot cleaner than CT. Sad thing is CT might close parks next year to budget issues. Add in that with budget cuts lifeguards and clean up crews are being cut. Less protected beaches and more trash at our parks. Not sure why you trash the parks it's sad.

So regular parks with no entrance fees are trashed by out of state visitors? Not for nothing, Out of State visitors have to pay $15 to get in. To your point, if that was really a problem, why not just let CT residents in for free and charge out of staters?
I bet most of you have no idea that there is a really good chance your local library lends out free CT State Park passes (most do).
As well as museum and aquarium passes
